I'm female, 5'2", 135 lbs, side sleeper, back/neck pain (old injury). Currently sleeping on a Serta pillow top, which I hate, bought it 4 yrs ago and its been killing me for the past 2 yrs. Basically feels like I'm sleeping on springs. I wake up with pressure pains in my hips mostly. It doesn't sink in enough to kick in the warranty (1.5 in).

I'm in CANADA and am considering ordering a LATEX mattress topper from MFC or APMC (pick up across the border). Hoping a topper will help.

I have generally preferred more FIRM mattress as they feel more supportive. I do not like the feeling of sinking in and the mattress enveloping my body, this seems to cause increased back pain.

My research has brought me to choose a DUNLOP LATEX topper. Dunlop bc its more firm than Talalay I understand?

My questions are:

1. What size mattress topper do you suggest? What is the advantage of a 3" over a 2" given my body size?

2. I was thinking MEDIUM firmness since I prefer a more firm mattress generally. Is this good combination with a 2 or 3" size?

3. I cannot find any return policy from MFC on their toppers? It looks like APMC offers a 30 day trial period for toppers (pay own shipping).

4. Advantages of APMC over MFC? Comparing the 3" med, Queen, Dunlop, = $569 CAD from MFC. Same item from APMC is $399 CAD ($299 USD). The only difference I see is that MFC is Organic.

Thanks for any advice.

Memory foam just collapses and provides little to know support in my opinion. That is why you "feel the coils". Latex is very uplifting and supporting and the fact that your hips are hurting tells me maybe a Soft Talalay might be the better choice. 3" is what you need to make a major difference. You can go with the Medium if you think you would do better on it but most women in you weight class choose the Soft.

Dunlop latex is better suited for heavier people because it's more dense. It won't conform to your body curves as well as Talalay will at your weight.
