I live in the Detroit suburbs and all that I can test are national brands which it definitely sounds like they feel better at the store than they last long. I have no problem purchasing a Avocado or DIY bed, but I have no idea where I can go to feel them out.

About me, single female with queen bed, 5'9 combination sleeper (I start on my back with my head turned, but always end up on my back or side). I am average weight but curvy hips.

When I go to the stores I tend to prefer the Luxury Firm Pillowtop feel. I want it firm, but soft on top with pillowtop. I currently have what I was told is like a Westin Heavenly Bed.

Now I am having back and shoulder pain because I think that it is time to get a new bed (I have had it for over 15 years).

If I am reading this right, I would like the firm coils and a firm transitional layer (dunlop 1-2"?), but then a soft layer of talalay 2-3"?

I would love someone else's thoughts and definitely a place that I could try it out.

Thanks
Karen (but not a Karen)
