Are Nectar Mattresses Good? 27 Jan 2022 15:56 #1

Hello there,

I just got a Lucid Mattress today and within a couple of hours sitting and laying on it I got sick and my body legs and back started hurting. I googled it and found this forum thank goodness. I am returning the mattress and now looking for another one. I found the Nectar mattress and wonder if anyone has one and/or can give any feedback on them?

Hi ssonnier, and welcome to The Mattress Underground :)

Glad to have you here!

I just got a Lucid Mattress today and within a couple of hours sitting and laying on it I got sick and my body legs and back started hurting.

Sorry you had a less than ideal experience with the Lucid. Did you have the latex, gel memory foam or hybrid?
What firmness level (they have firm, medium firm medium plush and plush); if Gel Memory foam, what thickness,
as they offer 6,8,10,12 and 14 inch models. These all differ in terms of comfort. One issue that has come up repeatedly in the forum with Lucid is that, as with many mattresses produced in Asia, they are compressed for long periods of time during shipping or storage, which can affect both feel and durability. As it stands, it sounds like this is definitely not working for you, whatever the reason may be. Also, all mattresses tend to have a ‘break in’ period –
is it possible your body needs to adapt better to the new mattress?

I found the Nectar mattress and wonder if anyone has one and/or can give any feedback on them?

Nectar offers a number of different mattresses with differing thickness; their site states the 12” Nectar Mattress as having a medium firm feel. It’s all foam, with a 2” gel memory foam layer, a 2” transition foam layer and a 7” fam base layer. Since Nectar beds are shipped in a box, you may see the same issues with long term compression during storage and shipping which can degrade the foam somewhat. Perhaps one of our members can chime with any experience they have had with Nectar.

I wouldn’t venture to make comments as to why you are experiencing these issues with Lucid. Again, its’ difficult to get a good feel for a new mattress in only a few hours of sitting or laying on it. We have a good tutorial on shopping for a new mattress you may want to review as well, for some useful tips.

A good general starting point would be to review our mattress specifications you need to know so that you can compare the quality and materials of components on the mattress durability guidelines here

I hope this provides some help
