Looking for something safe for a side sleeper and hypoallergenic 22 Jan 2022 18:49 #1

Hi all. You helped me find a mattress about a year and a half ago. I was having allergy issues with latex and ended up with a Mygreenmattress Pure Echo. It was stiff as a rock, a bad choice comfort wise, but I tolerated it from an allergy standpoint and I put a wool topper on it from coyuchi and it is pretty good.

I just bought a travel trailer and I need another mattress for it. I definitely think something on the plusher side is appropriate for me. I am 6 foot tall and weigh 155 lbs. I toss and turn and end up on my side most nights. My shoulders hurt horribly on a firm mattress. The problem is I don't tolerate the latex mattresses due to chemical allergies.

What are my options? i was looking at the ikea mattresses, such as the HAUGSVAR. I am OK with some of the foams as long as they off gas for a few days in the sun. I definitely could not tolerate any of the smelly, memory foam type mattresses.

What do you all think? I could do another pure echo and get a topper from holy lamb organics, but that's going to be about a $2500 setup for a mattress. Might be smarter to find something cheaper that I tolerate and only splurge if I can't find anything acceptable. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
