So . . . thanks to this incredible website we've decided on our mattress dealer and latex configuration. :)

The next decision is the two adjustable Twin XL bed frames. The names under consideration that I'm most familiar with are Ergomotion 400 or 600 Series (incl. Tempurpedic, Serta, etc), Leggett & Platt (S-Cape model), and Reverie 5D. The non-negotiables are wall-hugger feature and cordless remote . . . though I might add massage to that list as well.

Is this simply a dartboard decision? Or a cheapest price decision? I MUCH prefer to make an informed decision because that's just the way I'm wired. Is there any guidance to be had? Anyone buy one of these and had buyer's remorse? Or features that didn't work out as well as they could have?

Thanks!

Hi fjbpatt,

There is more information about choosing an adjustable bed in post #3 here and the main adjustable bed topic that it links to that can help you choose an adjustable bed based on price vs features comparisons and also includes some retailers that you can use as good sources of information about the features of the adjustable beds they carry and as pricing references as well (in post #6 in the main adjustable bed topic).

Or features that didn't work out as well as they could have?

In my own case the massage feature seemed more important when we purchased our adjustable bed than it turned out to be in "real life" and we don't use it nearly as much as we thought we would (although we still do from "time to time"). The massage is also quite noisy ... especially on a hardwood floor (we used rubber cups underneath the legs to reduce the vibration).

Of course others may use it much more than we do so this is just my own personal experience.

we have the s-cape and LOVE it. it is the best wall hugger (the best that you can get) It does not really "hug" the wall, but is better then the others we saw. It is easy to use and we love the massage feature. We had the Serta adjustable delivered from Macys first and it was a NIGHTMARE!

the lack of brace in the middle at the foot of the bed caused the mattress to slide down and fall on the floor. Their "wall hugger design" was not. Hope this helps.

That's great information . . . thanks for sharing. I'm specifically glad you mentioned the wall-hugger comparison - that's very important to me. I also understand from my reading that L&P parts are more readily available and that the company has good folks to work with you when needed.

BTW - Who did you buy your S-Cape from and why did you select them?
