New here, and looking for a reasonable price on latex mattress in Canada.
I saw an old post from 2013 saying www.naturessleep.ca/ was basically a fraud. Is that true?

Hi Tigyrius,

I hope that the information in post #39 here and the rest of the topic you read along with the additional comments that you will find with a forum search on naturessleep.ca (you can just click the link) and some research into at least one of their past companies (do a google search on "nasafoam reviews" and read some of the links that come up) would be enough to warn you to be very cautious in dealing with them. There are a lot of red flags here.

Thanks.
I had already read your warning post from Oct 1 2013 before asking this question. You have confirmed that you feel it is still relevant - so I will avoid Naturessleep.ca... Dormio has similar prices anyways (I am looking for latex and I live near Vancouver Island, BC, CA)

As an aside... How do you do it Phoenix? You reply to all these posts, provide information that is well supported, provide lengthy and detailed responses, and do so with regard to bias. It's refreshing.

I've been researching mattresses for a week, and what is happening in the mainstream industry is alarming. I really wish everyone knew so that regulations would change so that all mattress "ingredients" had to be listed - and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Your voice needs to be heard by a larger audience.

Cheers
Tigy

Hi Tigrius,

Thanks for the kind works ... I appreciate them :)

I've been researching mattresses for a week, and what is happening in the mainstream industry is alarming. I really wish everyone knew so that regulations would change so that all mattress "ingredients" had to be listed - and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Your voice needs to be heard by a larger audience.

The type and percentage of ingredients in a mattress (listed by weight) are already listed on the law tag but unfortunately they don't say anything about the quality/durability of the materials (especially the density of any polyfoam or memory foam) or their thickness or position which is just as important to know as the type of material.

I think that the biggest "voice for change" will be more and more consumers that pass on the basics of what they learn here to others that they know, only deal with manufacturers and retailers that are knowledgeable and fully transparent about the materials inside their mattresses, and let their wallet speak by not dealing with retailers/manufacturers that know little about the mattresses they are selling (and sadly enough will often usually know less meaningful information than the members here that have spent more than an hour or two on the site).

If there is a single thing that would have the biggest effect on the industry ... IMO it would be consumers insisting on transparency.

I've also made some additions and updates in the Victoria list in post #2 here over the last few days as well.

I'm looking forward to finding out what you end up deciding ... and of course any comments or questions you may have along the way.
