Hi Phoenix & all,

For the time being, we are going to sit tight with our Berkeley Ergonomics Willow with the additional 2" latex topper, which seems to be a nice adjustment. There is nothing 'wrong' with our BE mattress, but I think I may just be needing something a little softer or with a little more cush with age - hence the topper :)

Anyway- on to my question.... I'd still like to peruse memory foam beds & try out some Tempurpedics that could possibly be similarly replicated by a Select Foam or other online retailer with better value. I do know that some hotel chains do use Tempurpedic models.
I wondered if any of you happen to know of some hotel chains that DO use Tempurpedic mattress models? Phoenix, I don't want you to have to dedicate a great deal of time to this b/c you do so much for all of us already. BUT- if you or any other readers happen to know of some off the top of your head, I'd LOVE to know. And maybe some weekend or on our next trip, we could try to stay at one and try it out in real life just for kicks to see how we like it and if it might be worth pursuing. For example, I *thought* that maybe Radisson used to have Sleep Number beds, but I could not swear to it. I think there are other chains that have Tempurpedic?

Thanks guys!!!

I'm not familiar with any hotels that use Tempurpedic off the top of my head but if you find some it would be great to post them here so that others who were considering a "rest test" would know where to look as well.

Hi Phoenix,

I wanted to reply and let everyone know what I've uncovered. Sadly, it's not much, but thought I'd share either way.

From what I can find, it's pretty hit or miss. I did talk with Tempurpedic directly about hotels that may have their mattresses and there seems to be no chain that has them throughout the country- it's really city by city. But, they were certainly helpful and they were able to share some with me for a given city (examples below). It does seem like there was really just one hotel/city of the ones we discussed. The other problem is that when I called the hotels, they have NO idea which Tempurpedic model, they are just proud to say TEMPURPEDIC. Which of course for all of our purposes is not particularly helpful. Tempurpedic indicated that they make a hotel line called the Dream Spa, which is approximately like the Contour Signature. So, as comparison to something like the Cloud, may be entirely irrelevant. :S

- Dallas, TX - Studio 6 (972) 716-0600
- San Antonio, TX - Springhill Suites (713) 943-1713
- Tulsa, OK - Holiday Inn Express (918) 665-4242

Besides Tempurpedic, here are a few other examples I've stumbled upon. But, it sounds like unfortunately there is not much consistency and the best approach for those seeking a rest test would be to call the mfg. and try to get a list by city and then call the hotel to confirm details.

- Many Starwood Hotels all have Heavenly Beds
- Some Radisson hotels have Sleep Number Beds in specific rooms
- Some Marriott hotels have Jamison foam mattress beds

I wish I had some better answers to share, but I thought I'd share what I could so perhaps someone else will at least spare the time of a mass internet search for that data - just call the mfg. directly & ask! Then be sure to confirm with the hotel locally! And most of the time, you need to specifically request one of those beds, they are not in EVERY room.

Looks like we'll have to spend the weekend in a mattress store

Hi SleeplessinDallas,

Sometimes when I'm doing local research I use the search term "mattress, city, state abbreviation" and then go through dozens of pages to the end of the search results to make sure I don't miss any. In many cases the last half of the search results is hotels, bed and breakfasts etc.

I thought I'd try "Tempur, Dallas, TX" to see what showed up (Tempur because fome site list Tempurpedic and some list Tempur-pedic and this would catch them both) and it did bring up a bed and breakfast that appears to have them in at least one of their rooms although you would need to call and find out which one (if they know).

www.jeffersonstreetbnb.com/

www.cpdowntown.com/houston-hotel-rooms.aspx in Houston also showed up as an option.

Sometimes a site search on google for a site like Orbitz ( like this ) will bring up some possibilities as well.
