Yes we slept on the polyfoam base the first night about 10 hours after it was unpacked. We will sleep on the complete mattress tonight about 10 hours after the latex was delivered. I think 24-48 hours is way overkill. It looks like it's fully decompressed in a matter of minutes!

I think you are right about the overkill. I just measured it after only a couple hours after I unpacked it and the measurement is a full 10". That is right where it should be so I have to assume the decompression is complete.

My bed is less than 4 hours away. So hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I guess I will have to wait until Saturday night to give it the 24 hours to sleep on it. Should I also wait 24 hours before I put on the mattress protector?

I'm laying down on the new alexis to go to sleep as I type this and it's only been 10 hours since it was unwrapped. If it's not fully decompressed by now, I would be shocked. You'll see when you get yours...

The bed is here. Thank goodness I live in a single story house. And the Fed Ex guy brought it up the front steps. I must say the box was pretty much destroyed. The mattress isn't damaged though. As soon as I got it on the base and started to unroll it from the outer plastic wrap at about the half way point it began to expand. It has only been a half hour and its at full depth I think. I plan on sleeping on it tonight. The enclosure doesn't say not to, just that it can take 24 - 48 hours to reach full expansion. Haven't opened the box with the mattress protector and presumably the pillows. Needed to take a break from the pulling, pushing and tugging.
