Hello,

First I would like to say that this site has been tremendously helpful and informative, I've learned so much about things I never even thought of when I started looking into purchasing a mattress, so thank you for this site!

Now I was thinking of purchasing a mattress from Ultimate Dreams and have talked to Chuck about it but thought maybe a few more opinions on the matter would help me ease the mind.

I was deciding between the regular vs the Eurotop but wasn't sure if the eurotop would make that much more of a difference for me and my fiance.

I am 5'7 155lbs and she is 5'6 140lbs. I am generally a side/stomach sleeper and she is a side/back sleeper but we tend to sleep on our sides more. I find sleeping on my current bed I will have shoulder/hip pains and occasional back pain which is attributed to having surgery on my back for a L5 disc rupture about 6 years ago. We find that sleeping on firmer beds tend to cause more soreness in the mornings.

So I have come to a choice between the 7 or 8 firmness level with the bed. I was wondering if the 3" of the base layer would make that much of difference for us on the Eurotop otherwise I would be buying the Eurotop for the peace of mind of being able to switch the top layers unless there were some other advantages.

I'm also having a hard time choosing between the 7 and the 8 firmness level and was wondering if anyone had some more insight of just how soft/firm they might be.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello,

I am also interested in hearing responses to this post. I'm trying to decide between the 5 or 6, I think firmer would be better for my husband and I. But I also want to read the reviews between the regular mattress and the eurotop version. Thank you Phoenix for this site and for all this information.

supparo I just bought the Ultimate Dreams Mattress and will be waiting for it soo - I am shorter and fairly round with a lot of shoulder hip, lower back and sciatic pain and have chosen a 7 in it- I may get a latex or other topper later if needed, and will just use the 100% cotton mattress pad I have now until I become acclimated and I will be happy to let others know how it goes. You may have learned by now not to choose a mattress too soft because you can make it softer with a topper later on but it isn't easy to make it harder.

Had it not been for getting a new pillow - (had old cheap ones) I would not have known just how miserable my old mattress was making me after finding out how much misery my old pillows were. I really feel I made the best decision for me. While my budget was limited it just means I needed to choose even more wisely. I have tried innerspring of course, tried out expensive memory foam mattresses and toppers and airbeds.

This site is just a wealth of information, more than many of us thought there was to know - but I am really enjoying learning more about mattresses, the industry and its good to know I'm not the only one who has been so miserable.with some old mattress. good luck!

Hello supparo- omg! I thought I'd been clear on deciding on 7, not 6 this am but I guess not and so received another email making sure- it is being made this week I assume. They are very quick once they know, I hear. With an angel smiling I COULD get it Friday I forgot to ask !

If you have not seen them- those who are interested may wish to search on youtube for Ultimate Dreams mattress and there are 2 videos (that I found) of tthe unboxing of this mattress. One is longer - and amusing to boot- in the other a man lays down on his which is a 6 and it appears pretty soft however the mattress was not fully inflated out of box yet. - note the very flat pillow they include inside the mattress- it's amazing how flat it is. Think of the freight charges saved etc with modern bed technology.

I want to know how they suck the air out of them after they are made. I'd like to see the machine process :) Meanwhile can't wait; and should give my Papillon a bath (she is the Princess)

There's a few different ways. A quick video is here .

There's some videos of larger more sophisticated machines here .

Phoenix: thanks for steering us to the links.

that is close to how I visualized it for beds without springs - but then there are the ones with springs- I found this. It seems to be slower process than I would think but then how fast can you crush and roll springs, wrap and do it with good quality control see: - www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9tARofvJu8

Just an update, that I went to their website and looked at those beds and decided to buy straight from their site rather from the Amazon one.

I found that their own website had a 120 day guarantee which pushed all my worries aside.

Also their website has the Aloe Alexis which has 6" of latex instead of 3" and so I went with that one instead with a firmness level of 8 and I'm really looking forward to trying this bed out. This was not on their Amazon store.

Chuck was great and really helpful. The bed should be shipping out on Monday! I look forward to writing about it and letting everyone know how it is.

Thanks everyone.

Hi supparo,

They are currently in the process of transitioning from their Amazon site to their own "official" site which will have their new designs and the new exchange options they are making available. They are also offering the TMU 5% discount (or two pillows) on the Brooklyn Bedding mattresses as well instead of a single pillow. They are also now "officially" listed on the CetiPur site* as well to confirm that their polyfoam and memory foam materials are CertiPur certified.

Congratulations on your new mattress ... I'm looking forward to your feedback when you receive it :)

Does anyone have a link to their website? A google search yields nothing, just the Amazon links and the youtube videos.
